今回は、そんなカプセルトイを手がけた鈴茂器工に直撃インタビュー。誕生のきっかけや反響、さらに気になる「第3弾」の可能性についても聞いてみました。

■寿司ロボットのカプセルトイについて鈴茂器工に聞いてみた！

――鈴茂器工とは、どのような会社なのでしょうか？

鈴茂器工は1981年、世界初の寿司ロボットを開発し、以来、米飯加工ロボットのリーディングカンパニーとして業界を牽引している会社です。

世界90か国以上の寿司、おむすび、丼ものなど、様々な食のシーンで幅広く利用されています。寿司ロボットとご飯盛付けロボットにおいては、世界市場・国内市場ともにシェアNo.1を獲得しています。

――寿司ロボットをカプセルトイにしようと思ったきっかけを教えてください。

鈴茂器工が寿司ロボットのカプセルトイを開発したきっかけは、世界90カ国以上に広がる自社の寿司ロボットと日本の「ガチャ文化」を掛け合わせ、日本が誇る米食・寿司文化や技術を国内外へより身近に発信・PRすることでした。

精密なミニチュアとギミックを手掛けるトイズキャビンに惹かれコラボを打診し実現しました。普段は厨房の奥にあるロボットの精巧な構造やシャリが出る回転ギミックを、カプセルトイでは1/10サイズで再現しています。

――社内や取引先、一般の方などからはどのような反響がありましたか？

第1弾だけで終わることなく、再販されたことに対する驚きのコメントをいただきました。

第1弾の昨年2025年8月発売の際は、「店頭で見つけられなかったので、今度は見つけたい。」というありがたいコメントもいただいております。

第2弾の発売も、店舗さんのSNSで既に完売のお知らせが出ている店舗もあり、寿司ロボット界隈を中心とした盛り上がりに驚きを隠せません。

――早くも気になるところですが、第3弾の構想もあったりするのでしょうか？

私たちとしては、カプセルトイをシリーズ化で続けていけたら嬉しいです。

今回のシャリ玉を作るロボット以外にも、例えば、寿司ロボットの中でもで、のり巻きをまく機械、のり巻きをカットするカッター、酢とご飯を併せて酢飯をつくる酢合わせ機などのラインナップや、例えば、1981年の寿司ロボットの1号機なども、カプセルトイになったら魅力的ではと思える製品があります。

また、鈴茂器工には、寿司ロボットカテゴリー以外にも、ホテルやレストランで活躍する、ご飯盛付けロボット「Fuwarica」もあります。こちらは、外食利用のお客様に直接操作してご飯を盛り付けるセルフサービスの業態でも活用いただいているので、弊社顧客（事業者）からも、「寿司ロボットよりFuwaricaのトイの方が一般の方には知られているんじゃないの？」というコメントもいただいております。

ただ、カプセルトイは、企業コラボという形式でやらせていただいているので、トイズキャビンさんが「カプセルトイにしてみたい」と思っていただくことが大事かと考えています。担当しては、興味を持ってもらえるようにアピールを続けます（笑）
