Movie "Minions & Monsters" Announces Release of 24 New Merchandise Items Including Popular Characters like Plush Toys

The Takara Tomy Group's company, Takara Tomy Arts (President and CEO: Toshihisa Kondo, located in Katsushika-ku, Tokyo), will release 22 plush toys from August 1, 2026, and 2 GACHA™ (capsule toys) from August, as merchandise for Illumination's latest film, "Minions & Monsters," which will premiere in Japan on Friday, August 7, 2026. These items will be available at specialty toy and general merchandise stores, mass retailers, and online shops nationwide.

Minions & Monsters Movie New Merchandise Release Planned for All 24 Items

Takara Tomy Arts will be releasing new products related to the movie "Minions & Monsters" in their "Plush Toys" and "Gacha" lines. The lineup will feature familiar characters from the "Despicable Me/Minions" series, as well as new characters from the movie "Minions & Monsters" such as "James" and "Gooey." The aim is to create products that allow fans to enjoy the world and charm of the film in their everyday lives.

A total of 22 plush toys will be available. This includes "Snoozy Friends," which capture adorable sleeping poses that will charm your heart, as well as ball chain mascots and chain strap mascots, allowing you to keep your "Minions Series" friends close at hand and enjoy going out together while wearing them. A variety of other product types will also be offered. Notably, the plush toy of the monster "Gooney," making its first appearance in this work, captures its eye-catching, unique expression perfectly, even in plush form. The plush toy of "James," also making its first appearance in this work, is meticulously recreated down to its distinctive hair. When placed next to a "Gooney" plush, each one's individuality stands out. Furthermore, collectible "Gacha" products, which expand the joy of collecting, will be released starting in August. Products that allow you to enjoy the world of "Minions & Monsters" in the palm of your hand will be released, such as "Projector Lights" in the shape of projectors that can project scenes based on the movie's theme, and "Stand Figures" that recreate scenes of filmmaking related to the story of this work.

In addition, new products featuring popular characters from the "Minions Series" such as Bob and Stuart, as well as Tim and Fluffy, have been released, offering a wide variety of characters.

The animated film series "Despicable Me" and "Minions," with a cumulative worldwide box office revenue of $5.6 billion (approximately 89 billion yen*), are "monster" hits. Four years after "Minions: The Rise of Gru," which ranked No. 1 in foreign animated film box office revenue in Japan in 2022, the latest installment, "Minions & Monsters," starring the Minions, will return to the big screen on Friday, August 7th, nationwide!

Synopsis: This summer... the Minions are back with unprecedented chaos and major incidents! The Minions, on their journey to find the ultimate villain, arrive in the dream-filled world of Hollywood. By chance, they decide to make their own monster movie and summon a real monster... but super dangerous creatures are unleashed one after another, plunging the city into a panic!
